A true product of Tucson Unified, Sarah Flanary brings 14 years of dedicated district service to her role as a Response to Intervention (RTI) Specialist at Manzo Elementary!

Sarah’s TUSD roots run deep from her days as a student at Tully Elementary and Roskruge K-8 to her graduation from Tucson High.
She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, her teaching certificate from Pima Community College, and her master’s degree in K-8 reading from Northern Arizona University.

Sarah officially began her TUSD career as a library assistant at Cavett Elementary before spending several years teaching 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade. In 2018, she joined the Manzo Elementary team, where she eventually transitioned into her specialized reading role. Her favorite part of the job? Creating a supportive space where students can unlock their academic potential and blossom into confident learners!

Outside the classroom, Sarah loves spending quality time with her family, listening to music, and reading everything from engaging novels to beloved children's classics like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Strega Nona, and Frog and Toad. We are so grateful for Sarah’s lifelong commitment to education, district pride, and the wonderful heart she brings to the Manzo community every day!
